HiQ Tyres & Autocare has expanded its UK franchise network with two new sites in Newcastle and Southall, reflecting continued investment in regional tyre services and automotive care. Both openings are driven by experienced independent operators, supported by the national HiQ brand and Goodyear.
These developments underline a growing trend in the UK tyre sector: combining local expertise with national backing to meet rising demand for convenience, advanced diagnostics, and flexible servicing.
In Newcastle, New Bridgegate Tyres has opened its fourth HiQ Tyre Expert Centre, extending its existing presence in Barnard Castle, Newton Aycliffe and Birtley. The new facility – located on Noble Street near the city centre – offers a wide range of tyre services, including fitting, balancing, and alignment using the latest equipment.
The business also operates a fleet of over 26 mobile-fitting vans across the North East, allowing it to deliver roadside tyre support to fleet and private customers.
HiQ Newcastle is led by Centre Manager Mark, who brings extensive product and service knowledge to the role. The company emphasises customer care and reliable service as key differentiators in a competitive regional market.
Meanwhile, in Southall, HiQ has opened a new state-of-the-art autocentre managed by local automotive entrepreneur Rav Dhillon. Located on the Dominion Industrial Estate near the M4, the centre features an eight-ramp workshop with DVSA-authorised equipment, enabling it to service vehicles up to six tonnes.
Services include tyre fitting, MOTs, wheel alignment and ADAS calibrations – all increasingly critical as modern vehicles adopt more connected and automated systems.
The Southall centre is run day-to-day by Michael O’Connell, a seasoned motor industry professional with over 30 years of experience. His team of nine staff support both consumer and business customers across West London.
Both centres reflect HiQ’s franchise-first model, where independent operators leverage national tools and brand strength while tailoring services to local needs. As vehicles become more technically complex and customer expectations shift toward digital booking and mobile servicing, this hybrid model is gaining momentum.
For example, HiQ’s online booking system and network support give franchisees a platform to compete with larger chains while maintaining operational independence.
The growth of HiQ’s regional network – with ADAS-equipped workshops in London and expanded mobile fleets in the North East – signals a broader shift in the tyre and service sector. Operators are adapting to increasing demand for smart servicing capabilities, sustainability through vehicle longevity, and customer-first convenience.
These openings also highlight the role of automation and digital tools in enabling smaller operators to scale efficiently. From connected diagnostics to mobile tyre delivery, the modern autocare centre is evolving – and independent franchises are at the forefront.
