Vaculug has opened an Off-The-Road (OTR) Centre of Excellence in Kent to support quarrying, ports, industrial operations and waste management across the South of England. The site consolidates OTR tyres services, exchange wheel assemblies and Tyrfil foam-fill recycling. By expanding regional capacity, Vaculug aims to reduce downtime for heavy equipment fleets and broaden next-day support where uptime is critical.
Vaculug now supplies exchange wheel assemblies built to order, delivered with the customer’s preferred OTR tyres and compatible with leading equipment brands including JCB, Case, Hyundai, Caterpillar, Volvo and Liebherr.
The centre also holds forklift wheels for JCB, Linde, Caterpillar and Mitsubishi models, with bespoke assemblies available to customer specifications.
Vaculug has enhanced its Tyrfil recycling process at the new site. When foam-filled tyres reach end of life, the fill is removed, granulated and blended 50/50 with new Tyrfil for reuse in fresh fills. This closed-loop step reduces disposal, conserves material and extends the service life of OTR tyres. For wider technical context on closed-loop flat-proofing, see Carlisle’s overview of Tyrfil recycling technology (no-follow).
“This new depot is a major milestone for Vaculug. It strengthens our position in the OTR market while supporting our sustainability commitments. We are better equipped than ever to meet the demands of our customers and help them keep their operations running smoothly.”
Michael Evans, Operations & OTR Director, Vaculug.
Vaculug’s move aligns with recent off-highway growth initiatives and leadership changes focused on OTR service delivery across the UK. https://www.tyrenews.co.uk/news/vaculug-names-new-heads-of-otr-and-scottish-operations
