Birinchi Rezinotexnika Zavodi, the Ikon Tyres operation in Uzbekistan, has produced its six millionth Bars-branded tyre. The milestone tyre was a Bars UZ200 summer tyre, a model supplied to the replacement market and fitted as original equipment on locally assembled Kia Sonet SUVs.
The six millionth tyre gives BRZ a clear production marker for the Bars brand, which serves the budget-to-mid-range segment in Uzbekistan and selected export markets. The plant’s output reflects growing regional demand for domestically produced tyres, particularly where vehicle assembly and replacement demand are developing together.
The company said the milestone “marks a significant production achievement” for BRZ and reflects the growth of Bars as a tyre brand in the region. That claim should be treated as a company statement, but the OE fitment on the Kia Sonet gives the story added relevance beyond a simple factory count.
In practice, the Bars UZ200 matters because it sits across two important channels. Supplying the aftermarket supports tyre retail and wholesale activity, while original equipment supply gives the brand visibility at the vehicle assembly stage.
For tyre businesses watching emerging markets, the milestone points to continued investment in regional manufacturing capacity outside the largest global production hubs. It also shows how domestic tyre plants can use OE supply to strengthen brand credibility in local replacement markets.
The milestone should not be overstated. Six million tyres is a notable achievement for BRZ, but it is best framed as a regional manufacturing and brand development story. Its relevance lies in Uzbekistan’s tyre supply base, the Bars brand’s local presence, and the link between domestic assembly and replacement tyre demand.
