TechMan has launched TechMan 2.0, introducing an updated garage management platform with improved workshop workflows, integrated technical information and artificial intelligence (AI) tools for customer communication.
Announced on 27 October 2026, the system is being positioned as a broader workshop performance platform, bringing together bookings, technician management, customer communications and payments.
The updated platform introduces a redesigned interface intended to make everyday workshop tasks faster and easier to manage. Improvements include revised navigation, enhanced diary functionality and clearer visibility of jobs and technician workloads.
According to TechMan's launch announcement, the system connects activities from initial online bookings through to workshop operations, invoicing, payments and future customer appointments.
Leo Freebairn, UK Sales Director at TechMan, said:
"This is more than a garage management system. It is a complete platform built around workshop performance."
A key development is TechMan's AI-powered customer communication functionality, designed to handle both incoming and outgoing telephone calls.
The technology can assist with booking enquiries, appointment reminders, customer updates and feedback. It is also intended to help workshops reconnect with existing customers and identify opportunities for additional bookings.
For independent garages and tyre retailers, the system could help manage enquiries when reception staff are occupied or businesses are closed.
TechMan also incorporates Autodata Premium, giving technicians access to technical information, including wiring diagrams and repair procedures, directly through connected devices.

Early users of TechMan 2.0 have reported improvements in workshop visibility and administration.
BTN Automotive, which specialises in German and Jaguar Land Rover vehicles, has been using the updated system to manage technician workloads and digital job reporting.
The business says technicians can transfer information from tablets directly into job documentation, reducing the need for front-office staff to re-enter details.
General Manager Cameron also reported that direct access to technical data could save between five and ten minutes in circumstances where technicians would otherwise need to wait for a shared computer.
Meanwhile, CCM Garages, which operates across three locations, reports faster navigation and has introduced the AI Service Advisor to handle customer enquiries and bookings.
These experiences are drawn from TechMan's own customer case studies rather than independently measured performance assessments.
The developments are particularly relevant to businesses combining tyre fitting with servicing and mechanical repairs, where appointment scheduling, technician availability and customer communication must be managed together.
However, TechMan has not confirmed which specialised tyre retail capabilities, such as tyre wholesaler stock feeds, supplier ordering or fitted-price quotations, are available within TechMan 2.0.
The launch follows wider developments in connected workshop software, previously examined by Tyre News Media in How Connected Technology Is Changing Tyre Retail Operations.
For workshops considering the updated platform, the availability of individual AI functions, subscription costs and migration arrangements will be important factors when assessing its suitability.
