The Nürburgring Truck Grand Prix has long been a magnet for Europe’s heavy-duty sector. Sailun used this year’s edition to strengthen relationships with fleet operators and distributors, spotlight its partnership network, and prove its tyres’ mettle in a demanding racing environment.
Sailun shared trackside space with German distributor Bohnenkamp and the Hecker Truck Race Team, positioning the brand at the heart of the paddock’s footfall. A historic Hecker race truck and the event’s official pace-truck, both shod with Sailun tyres, served as rolling billboards that drew visitors throughout the weekend.
Invited guests received guided tours of the team garages, meeting engineers and drivers to learn how tyre choices influence handling, durability and lap consistency. The hands-on format turned a marketing exercise into a technical dialogue, reinforcing Sailun’s engineering credentials with commercial fleet managers.
Truck racing imposes extreme lateral forces and heat cycles uncommon in everyday haulage. By equipping the pace-truck and show vehicles, Sailun demonstrated compound robustness and shoulder integrity—attributes directly relevant to the long-haul and regional-haul segments.
Throughout the weekend Sailun staff collected feedback on mileage expectations, retread policies and ESG procurement criteria. These insights will inform future product development and sustainability reporting, the company says.
With cost-conscious operators scrutinising every pence per kilometre, brand familiarity alone seldom converts to sales. By bringing tyres into the competitive arena—and pairing that with technical conversations—Sailun aims to shorten the trust-building cycle with European fleets and dealers alike.
