NEXEN TIRE Strengthens EV Market Presence with Kia EV4 OE Deal
NEXEN TIRE has secured original equipment (OE) status for Kia’s first electric sedan, the EV4, with its N’FERA Supreme S tyre. This development expands NEXEN’s footprint across Kia’s EV lineup and highlights its growing presence in the EV tyre sector.
The N’FERA Supreme S tyre has been engineered to address key performance factors unique to electric vehicles, including high torque handling, low rolling noise, and stability at speed. Kia selected the tyre for its ability to deliver consistent grip, enhanced braking, and comfort for both urban and long-distance driving scenarios.
To support the heavier weight and acceleration dynamics of electric vehicles, NEXEN incorporated a 4D compound and load distribution technology aimed at improving grip and tread wear. An aerodynamic sidewall design further supports energy efficiency, contributing to extended range in EV applications.
With the EV4 now added to the list, NEXEN TIRE supplies OE tyres for several models in Kia’s electric vehicle range, including the EV3, EV6, and EV9. This positions NEXEN as one of the most active OE suppliers among Korean tyre manufacturers for the domestic EV market.
The company has stated ambitions to broaden its supply partnerships internationally, targeting premium vehicle manufacturers with tyres specifically designed for electrified platforms. Since 2016, NEXEN has collaborated with global OEMs in Europe and other regions to support next-generation vehicle development.
As manufacturers prioritise rolling resistance, durability, and acoustic comfort, tyre makers like NEXEN are leveraging material science and tread design innovations to remain competitive. The EV4 fitment also reflects growing alignment between domestic Korean automakers and local suppliers in the push for electrification.
