GSF Car Parts has opened a new 7,168 square-foot branch in Bury St Edmunds, creating 12 full-time jobs and deploying six delivery vans to strengthen trade supply across East Anglia.
The opening, GSF's second in the UK this year, forms part of an ambitious expansion programme that will see nine additional locations launch by May as the distributor accelerates its network build-out.
The new branch combines office space, a retail counter and warehouse facilities to improve parts availability for garages throughout West Suffolk. With six vans operating from the site, same-day delivery should be achievable across nearby towns and main arterial routes, helping to reduce waiting times on urgent jobs and improve fill rates.
The company says the location will stock a comprehensive trade range spanning service parts through to workshop consumables.
This opening follows GSF's January announcement outlining plans to add approximately 20 branches during 2026, with 12 sites scheduled to open by the end of April and further locations under consideration for the second half of the year.
The programme builds on three consecutive years of sales growth exceeding 20% in the independent aftermarket. "Our ambition is clear: to become the UK's number one independent aftermarket distributor," said chief executive Steve Horne.
Bury St Edmunds sits within the West Suffolk local authority area, serving a mixture of commuter and rural demand along the A14 corridor. Official statistics highlight the area's role as a regional centre for employment and services, supporting the business case for stronger local distribution infrastructure.
GSF has been expanding its footprint and capacity through new branches and selected relocations. Recent activity includes a larger Slough site that came online late last year, alongside earlier branch openings in Cornwall and the North West, indicating sustained expansion momentum into 2026.
With nine additional sites scheduled by May, the Bury St Edmunds branch marks an early milestone in what promises to be a busy first half of the year. For garages, the practical benefit should be faster delivery windows and improved first-time parts availability. For suppliers, the branch adds regional stock-holding capacity and last-mile delivery capability as the network continues to expand.
