Premium and EV Fitments Shape 2026 All-Season Tyre Launches

Goodyear, Vredestein, Yokohama and Hankook are strengthening their European all-season tyre ranges during 2026. Their latest activity focuses on premium vehicles, larger wheel sizes and electric-vehicle compatibility. The investment comes despite softer UK volumes, showing that manufacturers still expect the category to play a larger role within the replacement market.

Product investment continues

All-season tyre development remains active across several major manufacturers, although recent UK demand has been uneven.

Goodyear has made one of the largest product moves with the fourth generation of its Vector range. Renamed Vector All Season 4, the tyre was introduced to European media in the Swiss Alps.

The launch continues the Vector 4Seasons product heritage. However, Goodyear is positioning the new generation further towards the premium end of the market.

Its offer extends into larger rim diameters, reflecting the changing vehicle parc and rising use of larger wheels. The design has also been updated to create a more distinctive position within Goodyear’s passenger tyre range.

The launch coincides with the 50th anniversary of what Goodyear identifies as the first all-season tyre. That history gives the company a useful platform as competition within the category increases.

Performance becomes a bigger differentiator

Apollo Tyres is also broadening its Vredestein all-season portfolio with the Quatrac Pro 2.

The ultra-high-performance tyre targets sports cars, premium saloons, hatchbacks and SUVs. The first 38 sizes are scheduled to become available from summer 2026.

Apollo plans to expand the range to 120 stock-keeping units. That scale would give distributors and retailers coverage across a wide range of premium applications.

The company says wet grip, high-speed stability and driving performance were central to the tyre’s development. It has also highlighted the product’s suitability for electrified powertrains.

Tyre News previously reported that the Vredestein Quatrac Pro 2 will target ultra-high-performance and electrified vehicles.

The launch illustrates how all-season tyres are moving beyond their traditional convenience-led position. Manufacturers increasingly want them judged against performance, refinement and vehicle-specific requirements.

Yokohama adds breadth across cars and SUVs

Yokohama will enter the next phase of its European all-season offer with the BluEarth-AllSeason2.

The tyre is due to reach the European market in September 2026. Yokohama says it has been developed for premium cars, SUVs and battery-electric vehicles.

Its planned 74-size range indicates the breadth of applications that manufacturers now expect all-season products to cover.

The inclusion of electric vehicles is particularly significant. Higher vehicle weights, immediate torque and low cabin noise have changed tyre development priorities.

Manufacturers must balance grip and durability with rolling resistance, comfort and noise performance. Those requirements are increasingly influencing tyres designed for year-round use.

Hankook keeps EV-specific products in view

Hankook is supporting its position through a wider winter and all-season range rather than one headline introduction.

The iON FlexClimate remains an important part of that offer. It sits within Hankook’s electric-vehicle tyre family and has featured in independent testing and company communications.

Its continued prominence reflects the growing segmentation of the all-season market. Manufacturers are no longer developing one product around every type of passenger vehicle.

Instead, portfolios are separating around premium performance, SUVs, electric vehicles and general replacement demand.

This creates more choice for the trade. It also makes product selection and staff knowledge more important at retail level.

UK demand provides a note of caution

The launch activity contrasts with recent UK replacement-market figures.

NielsenIQ and GfK data showed UK all-season sell-out volumes falling by 9.8% during the first eight months of 2025. The overall car tyre market declined by 9.3% over the same period.

Tyre News’ report on the fall in UK all-season tyre volumes found that the category did not escape wider market weakness.

The decline does not necessarily signal a long-term reversal. However, it shows that product investment is taking place in a difficult trading environment.

Manufacturers are therefore competing for share within a category whose immediate growth is not guaranteed.

What the launches mean for the trade

For wholesalers and retailers, the latest products point towards more premium positioning and wider fitment coverage.

Larger wheel sizes can raise average selling values, while EV-specific credentials create new opportunities for technical selling. Broad size ranges can also help reduce gaps in vehicle coverage.

However, greater choice may increase stocking complexity. Businesses will need to assess local demand before adding further ranges or duplicating similar premium fitments.

The key question is no longer whether all-season tyres have a place in the UK market. It is which products can offer a clear reason for motorists to trade up.

Wet performance, winter capability, electric-vehicle suitability and recognised branding will all influence that decision.

The 2026 launch pattern suggests manufacturers remain confident about the category’s longer-term role. The market data shows that confidence must still be converted into replacement sales.
