Triangle Tyre has received the 2026 Green Development Model Enterprise Award at a sustainability summit held in Shanghai on 29 July. The recognition covers the manufacturer’s environmental planning, production efficiency, materials development and supply-chain controls. For the tyre industry, the award reflects growing pressure on manufacturers to support environmental claims with operational and governance measures.
The award was presented during the fifth International Green Zero-Carbon Festival and environmental, social and governance (ESG) Leadership Summit.
According to the event organiser, the summit examined zero-carbon manufacturing, industrial decarbonisation, ESG implementation and circular-economy development. Its award assessment considered strategic planning, technological innovation, clean energy, supply-chain management and social responsibility.
Triangle Tyre said the recognition reflected its efforts to integrate environmental targets into manufacturing and corporate governance. The company has established emissions-reduction objectives for 2030 and a longer-term roadmap towards carbon neutrality by 2050.
The manufacturer did not provide fresh emissions figures alongside the award announcement. Its progress should therefore be viewed as a statement of direction rather than a quantified assessment of its carbon performance.
Triangle Tyre holds energy-efficiency “Leader” status from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It has also received national Green Factory recognition.
The company says production improvements have lowered carbon intensity per unit manufactured. A biomass boiler conversion has also increased the share of renewable energy used within its operations.
These measures follow earlier sustainability activity covered by Tyre News. In December 2025, Triangle Tyre was recognised for sustainable development work in China, including energy efficiency and industrial-waste management.
Plant-level evidence is becoming increasingly important across the sector. Recent Tyre News reporting also examined Goodyear’s Green Factory recognition at its Pulandian plant, where solar generation and waste controls supported the site’s environmental case.
Triangle Tyre is expanding its use of recycled rubber and bio-based feedstocks within product development. The company has also introduced environmental assessments for suppliers and strengthened raw-material traceability.
Its supplier-management programme incorporates ESG criteria covering environmental performance, labour, human rights and governance. Triangle has also stated a zero-deforestation commitment for its supply chain.
Similar measures were highlighted when the manufacturer received two sustainability awards from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers in 2025. That recognition covered green development and supply-chain collaboration.
For tyre wholesalers, fleets and original equipment customers, such controls can affect procurement decisions. Buyers increasingly need evidence covering material origins, manufacturing energy and supplier governance, rather than product performance alone.
The Shanghai award adds external recognition to Triangle Tyre’s stated sustainability programme. However, its longer-term significance will depend on measurable reporting against the company’s 2030 targets.
Tyre News’ wider review of sustainability performance among global tyre manufacturers has shown that ratings, traceability and disclosed emissions data are becoming important differentiators across the sector.
Triangle Tyre said it plans to deepen ESG implementation and support lower-carbon development across the tyre value chain. Future disclosures will provide a clearer measure of progress against those aims.
