Ville Mansikkamäki has been appointed Senior Vice President, Heavy Tyres at Nokian Tyres and will also join the company’s Management Team, bringing senior leadership experience from machinery manufacturers serving many of the same industries as Nokian Heavy Tyres.
Nokian Tyres has appointed Ville Mansikkamäki as Senior Vice President, Heavy Tyres, with the executive due to take up the position by 1 October 2026. He will also become a member of the Nokian Tyres Management Team and report to President and CEO Paolo Pompei.
The appointment was originally announced on 29 April. Mansikkamäki joins from Finnish forestry machinery manufacturer Ponsse, where he has served as Vice President, Europe since 2024.
His previous career also includes senior positions with CNH Industrial, Valtra and AGCO. At CNH Industrial he was Vice President, Dealer & Customer Support EMEA between 2020 and 2023, while earlier roles included responsibility for Valtra sales across Europe and the Middle East and serving as AGCO country manager for the Nordic and Baltic region.
That machinery-sector background provides direct experience of industries and equipment manufacturers closely connected with Nokian Heavy Tyres' customer base.
Pompei said Mansikkamäki's “deep expertise in machinery industry” and international leadership experience would support the continued development of the Heavy Tyres business.
Nokian Heavy Tyres develops and manufactures specialist tyres for heavy machinery and commercial vehicles, with product areas including forestry, agriculture, mining, ports and terminals, earthmoving, road maintenance, trucks and buses. The business sells into both replacement and original-equipment markets, with Nokian Tyres stating that nearly half of Heavy Tyres sales are generated from manufacturer-installed tyres.
That OE exposure makes Mansikkamäki's experience with machinery manufacturers particularly relevant to his new role, alongside his background in sectors such as forestry and agricultural machinery.
Nokian Heavy Tyres manufactures nearly all of its heavy tyres at the group's Nokia factory in Finland, while truck and bus tyres are produced through manufacturing partners in the EU.
