The UK's premier TPMS skills competition is back. Under Pressure '26 has been officially confirmed for a fifth consecutive year, with entries now open and the event shaping up to be the most ambitious chapter yet.
What began as a focused initiative to raise awareness of Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) expertise has developed into the aftermarket's most prominent celebration of diagnostic knowledge and technical excellence. Over five years, the competition has grown steadily in both reach and reputation, drawing some of the most skilled technicians from across the industry.
Under Pressure '26 will once again challenge competitors to identify, diagnose and resolve real-world TPMS scenarios in a timed, pressure-filled environment. The competition is structured across three categories: large retailer network, small retailer, and under-23s, ensuring a level playing field and a dedicated pathway for emerging talent.
Qualifying rounds are scheduled for 19, 20 and 21 May 2026. The top performers will then go forward to the Grand Final, which takes place on 24 June 2026 at the Pirelli Performance Centre in Burton upon Trent. The Burton venue is hosting the final for the fourth consecutive year, having established itself as the ideal backdrop for what has become the industry's definitive TPMS showdown.
Reaching a fifth year is a significant moment for any independently run competition, and for Under Pressure it marks a clear validation of the event's purpose within the sector.
Managing Director Prashant Chopra said: "Reaching a fifth year is a huge moment for Under Pressure and for everyone who has supported the event along the way. What started as an embryonic idea to help upskill the industry has grown into something that we never could have imagined."
"Each year, the standard gets higher, the engagement gets stronger and the impact gets bigger. Under Pressure '26 will be no different. We are already working behind the scenes on new elements that will take the competition even further, and we are extremely excited to share more details soon."
Chopra also pointed to the broader mission driving the competition: "Over the past five years, Under Pressure has played an important role in our mission to ensure TPMS is recognised as a core aftermarket category, sitting alongside tyres, brakes and batteries. Just as importantly, it reflects our long-standing commitment to training, innovation and continuous improvement across the sector."
TPMS has been a legal requirement on new passenger cars sold in the UK and Europe since November 2014, meaning a growing proportion of vehicles on UK roads now carry sensors that require specialist knowledge to service, diagnose and replace correctly. As vehicle fleets age, the rate of TPMS-related faults is rising, placing increased demand on workshops with trained technicians who can handle diagnostics efficiently and accurately.
Under Pressure was founded on the principle that this expertise deserves recognition, and that structured competition is one of the most effective tools available for driving up industry standards. With TPMS diagnostic tools becoming increasingly sophisticated, as demonstrated by the growing range of professional-grade equipment now available to the trade, the ability to deploy that technology correctly is more critical than ever.
The organisers have confirmed that new elements are being developed for the 2026 edition, though full details are yet to be announced. A strong line-up of returning sponsors will once again underpin the event, reflecting the ongoing commercial and professional support that has helped Under Pressure scale year on year.
Further announcements are expected in the coming weeks ahead of the May qualifying rounds.
Technicians and tyre businesses wishing to enter Under Pressure '26 are encouraged to register their interest now, with qualifying places expected to fill quickly given the growing profile of the competition.
