TyreSafe has published its 2025 Annual Review, documenting what the organisation describes as a year defined by "Partnerships in Action" in its mission to achieve safer roads across the UK.
The review, presented via an official video, highlights the charity's major achievements throughout the year, including the successful 'Under Pressure?' campaign during Tyre Safety Month, the launch of new digital resources, and the implementation of pioneering enforcement projects across the country.
The collaborative approach with more than 240 partners has strengthened TyreSafe's message significantly, earning both national and international recognition for its evidence-led methodology. This partnership model has proven instrumental in extending the charity's reach and amplifying its road safety message throughout communities across the UK.
Despite progress, the review underscores the continuing need for tyre safety awareness. In 2024, 172 people were killed or seriously injured due to unroadworthy tyres—a stark reminder of the real-world consequences when tyre maintenance is neglected. This sobering statistic reinforces TyreSafe's vision of achieving zero harm from tyre-related incidents, a goal that the charity emphasises requires shared responsibility across the industry and motoring public.
Looking ahead, TyreSafe has announced two upcoming community road safety events in 2026 where supporters and industry partners can contribute to local engagement efforts:
Sandwell College Road Safety Event – "For the One I Love"The first event will take place on Tuesday, 10th February 2026 at Sandwell College in West Bromwich. Focused on young driver and passenger safety, this event aims to educate a demographic particularly vulnerable to road traffic incidents. Those interested in supporting the event can contact Louise Bodlovic at Louise_Bodlovic@sandwell.gov.uk
National Highways Open DayOn Saturday, 9th May 2026, National Highways will host a public road safety event at its Regional Operations Centre in Wakefield, running from 10:00 to 16:00. The event specifically requires tyre industry support for tyre checking activities, providing an excellent opportunity for retailers and manufacturers to engage directly with the public. Contact Nicola Clayton at Nicola.Clayton@nationalhighways.co.uk for involvement opportunities.
TyreSafe emphasises that supporter involvement in these community events is crucial for extending the charity's reach and impact across the UK, helping to ensure that vital tyre safety messages reach motorists at a grassroots level.
