Truckfly by Michelin GPS Targets Safer, Smarter HGV Navigation.

Michelin has introduced a new Truckfly by Michelin GPS for professional drivers, live in Europe from 4 August 2025. The smartphone-based navigation sits inside the existing Truckfly app. It uses truck-specific vehicle data and real-time updates to avoid unsuitable bridges, restrictions and regulatory obstacles. Pricing in Europe starts at €6.99 per month on a no-contract basis.

Truckfly by Michelin GPS: What’s New

The Truckfly by Michelin GPS is built for HGV use, replacing ageing in-cab units with a phone-native approach that updates features in real time. It supports custom settings for dimensions and hazardous loads, helping drivers plan compliant routes and reduce risk. Subscriptions are already active in 15 European countries.

“This GPS is a response to a simple observation: more than 86% of truckers currently use navigation tools which are not fit for purpose… It’s a huge issue not just for road safety, but also for the operational efficiency of trucking companies.” — Clément Faure, Chief Marketing Officer, Truckfly by Michelin. “At Truckfly by Michelin, we firmly believe that truck drivers deserve a bespoke all-in-one solution… The tangible result is a tool designed for them and by them!” — Stéphane Rabiller, CEO, Truckfly by Michelin.

At a glance

  • Launch: 4 August 2025, Europe.
  • Price: €6.99 per month, no contract.
  • Platform: Smartphone via Truckfly app.

Inside the Truckfly Ecosystem

Created in 2015, the Truckfly app has more than 615,000 users across 44 countries and lists over 125,000 truck-friendly locations, including parking, fuel, restaurants, delivery points and garages. Community alerts cover speed checks, accidents and road obstacles, updating in real time.

For fleets and HR teams

Beyond navigation, Truckfly offers an annual business plan with tiered licences aligned to Quality, Health, Safety and Environment policies. A built-in recruitment feature lets companies post jobs and search a database of more than 12,000 active driver profiles, supporting retention during a driver shortage.

A smartphone-first GPS reduces hardware obsolescence and downtime for updates. Truck-specific routing can prevent bridge strikes, low-emission zone infringements and unsuitable road use, improving safety and cost control. Related digital tools are moving in the same direction, from connected inflation systems to rugged driver terminals that enhance workflow and compliance.
