The 2025 edition of the Tractor Driver of the Year competition will land in the UK for the first time on Thursday, 16 October 2025, bringing 40 of Europe’s most skilled tractor operators to Prestwold Hall, Leicestershire. Sponsored by Trelleborg Tyres, the event extends a format that has run for five successful seasons in Italy, giving British farmers a live showcase of driver talent and the latest tyre technologies.
Created by Trelleborg in 2019, the contest rewards real-world precision and safety behind the wheel rather than outright speed. Past editions have become a fixture on the Italian agricultural calendar and now move to British soil in response to rising interest from UK contractors and machinery operators.
Competitors will be tested in four timed disciplines designed to replicate everyday field work:
All drivers will pilot Valtra tractors factory-fitted with Trelleborg radial tyres, allowing onlookers to assess traction, soil protection and fuel efficiency in live conditions.
“Tractor Driver of the Year UK is a unique opportunity to spotlight the real heroes of modern agriculture… showcasing not only our tyre technology but our commitment to those who drive progress in the field every day,”
David Miller, Managing Director UK, Trelleborg Tyres.
