
TireCheck has previewed INSCAN, a drive-over system that uses 3D optical imaging to inspect tyres without stopping vehicles. The platform combines automated vehicle identification, sidewall reading and real-time tread analysis. It could extend TireCheck’s digital fleet offering, although the company has not disclosed measurement accuracy, availability, installation needs or pricing.
INSCAN is designed to collect tyre condition data whenever a vehicle crosses the scanning unit. TireCheck says its high-speed imaging operates without interrupting traffic through a fleet yard or service site.
The company described the system as providing “immediate, high-precision tyre insights every time a vehicle passes”. However, it has not published figures supporting the claimed precision.
Automated vehicle identification links each inspection with a corresponding vehicle profile. This removes some manual recording and could provide fleets with a repeatable tyre history for each asset.
The system also reads tyre sidewalls. TireCheck says it can extract brand, size and specification details before associating them with individual wheel positions.

Real-time 3D modelling is intended to measure tread depth and identify wear patterns. This could help operators detect uneven wear before it causes premature replacement or affects vehicle availability.
The demonstration accompanying the announcement shows a commercial vehicle crossing a low-profile ramp. A dashboard then displays tyre-level readings and measurement timestamps.
The interface appears to include tread depth and pressure information. TireCheck has not confirmed whether pressure comes from INSCAN itself, connected tyre pressure monitoring system sensors or combined platform data.
That distinction will matter to potential users. Fleets will need to understand which measurements are captured optically and which require additional hardware.
INSCAN would broaden TireCheck’s existing range of sensors, inspection gauges and management software. Its current platform connects tyre inspections, tyre pressure monitoring and service records within a common digital environment.
The company also supplies the TPMS FlexiGauge. This handheld device records tread depth, pressure and temperature before synchronising results with TireCheck software.
INSCAN moves that process towards unattended inspection. Instead of a technician checking every tyre, the scanner could create a condition record during routine vehicle movements.
This reflects a wider shift towards automated tyre data capture. Tyre News previously examined Goodyear’s faster CheckPoint drive-over inspection system, which links tread and pressure readings with fleet reports and workshop displays.

Several established systems already automate tyre checks at fleet depots and workshops. Goodyear CheckPoint combines drive-over measurement with connected fleet reporting. Other platforms use laser, optical or sensor-based methods to assess tread condition.
The commercial case rests on consistency and frequency. A scanner positioned at a depot entrance can inspect tyres more often than a periodic manual check.
In practice, useful data will also depend on vehicle recognition, measurement repeatability and integration with maintenance systems. Operators must be able to distinguish urgent defects from longer-term wear trends.
The technology could also support tyre dealers and service providers. Reliable inspection histories may improve maintenance scheduling, replacement planning and customer reporting.
