Goodyear used IAA Transportation 2024 in Hannover (17–22 September 2024) to unveil a refreshed CheckPoint drive-over inspection platform that aims to shrink workshop downtime and turn tyre data into new revenue streams.
■ Modular tread depth sensor – optical unit redesigned for quicker servicing and greater measuring precision.
■ Live Display via FleetHub – latest readings appear on any linked screen in a simplified workshop view; a QR code lets drivers pull results to a phone.
■ Unregistered vehicle detection – captures tyre condition for passing trucks not yet on FleetHub, helping dealers engage prospects.
■ Fleet Overview Report – single-screen summary of tread and pressure by vehicle, axle and wheel to guide maintenance planning.
CheckPoint now feeds directly into Goodyear FleetHub, DriverHub and FleetOnlineSolutions, giving fleet managers instant alerts and historical trend lines without manual uploads. The company says the fully connected set-up supports quicker decision-making and smoother workshop flow.
“Dealers and service providers now have even more tools to attract new customers,” said Patricia Azzoni, Goodyear product manager, at the launch.
Automated, ground-level inspection bridges a critical data gap between telematics and workshop checks. As commercial operators push for lower downtime and greener operations, fast tyre health readings help cut rolling resistance, extend casing life and support predictive maintenance strategies that are rapidly becoming standard across connected fleets.
