Repairify and Opus IVS plan diagnostics merger to speed innovation

Leading diagnostics providers asTech, BlueDriver, and Opus IVS plan to combine operations in bid to meet growing demand for advanced vehicle servicing solutions

Repairify's diagnostics brands, asTech and BlueDriver, have announced their intention to merge with Opus IVS in a move set to reshape the automotive diagnostics landscape. The combination brings together complementary technologies, extensive technical expertise, and a shared commitment to supporting repairers as they navigate the complexities of modern vehicle servicing.

As automotive technology becomes increasingly sophisticated, the demand for precise diagnostics and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) calibrations continues to grow. The merger aims to create a more robust platform for delivering innovative solutions with enhanced coverage and capabilities across the board.

"Diagnostics and calibrations are becoming central to every repair," said Srisu Subrahmanyam, CEO of Repairify. "By bringing together asTech's remote service excellence, Opus IVS's advanced hardware engineering and software platform capabilities, and BlueDriver's broad mechanical repair presence, we can innovate faster and deliver more value to our repairer customers."

Following completion of the transaction, the combined diagnostics division's leadership teams will remain intact, with Brian Herron appointed as CEO of the newly formed diagnostics business encompassing asTech, Opus IVS, and BlueDriver.

Shared Vision for the Future

Herron emphasised the strategic alignment between the companies: "asTech and Opus IVS share a vision for helping diagnose, calibrate, and repair the most complex vehicles. Together, we are beginning the next chapter of innovation and the future of vehicle repair."

He added that the organisation's primary focus remains unchanged: "Our north star has been and will remain our commitment to enabling our repair customers to grow their business by delivering services and diagnostic technology so they can take on the most complex vehicle repairs. This combination will accelerate our ability to deliver solutions to repairers, whilst still maintaining the focus and expertise that our collective customers have come to expect."

Maintaining Brand Identity

The three companies will continue to operate as distinct brands within the combined diagnostics organisation and will maintain support for their current products and customer base. However, the businesses plan to progressively integrate their capabilities, with the aim of delivering new innovations that expand diagnostic capabilities, increase access to technology, and streamline workflows across the industry.

The proposed transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions, including applicable regulatory approvals.

The merger comes at a critical time for the automotive aftermarket, as workshops face mounting pressure to invest in diagnostic equipment and training to service vehicles equipped with increasingly complex electronic systems and safety features.
