
Longxing Technology Group has begun supplying sustainable carbon black to a major European tyre manufacturer following a customer approval process. The initial order covers nearly 10,000 tonnes, according to the Chinese producer. However, Longxing has not named the customer or disclosed the contract value, delivery timetable or intended tyre applications.
Longxing said the material uses cracking oil derived from waste tyres as its primary feedstock. The oil is processed to produce carbon black rather than being used only as a fuel or lower-value output.
The company described the first supply order as an important step in expanding its position within Europe’s sustainable tyre supply chain.
Longxing also said the product provides performance comparable with conventional virgin carbon black. That claim has not been supported by published test results or independently verified performance data.
Customer approval nevertheless indicates that selected grades have completed the manufacturer’s internal assessment process. Tyre makers commonly require extensive compound testing before approving changes to reinforcing fillers.
Longxing said it is working with several other major European tyre manufacturers on sustainable carbon black projects.
The programmes reportedly include product development, sample deliveries, testing and certification. Longxing has not identified the companies or indicated when those projects could enter commercial production.
The announcement therefore signals growing customer interest rather than evidence of wider adoption at this stage.

Carbon black is a critical reinforcing material used to support tyre strength, durability and wear performance. Most conventional production relies on fossil-based feedstocks.
Using tyre-derived cracking oil could reduce dependence on virgin fossil inputs while creating another market for outputs from end-of-life tyre processing.

Longxing’s announcement differs from conventional recovered carbon black production. Its process uses oil generated from waste tyre treatment as feedstock for manufacturing a new carbon black product.
Commercial significance will depend on repeat orders, production scale and the material’s performance across different tyre compounds. Certification and independently reported lifecycle data will also influence its acceptance among European manufacturers.
For now, the customer approval and initial volume represent a notable entry into the European market. The undisclosed customer and supply terms, however, limit any assessment of the agreement’s longer-term impact.
