Linglong Tire's factory in Zrenjanin, Serbia, has successfully achieved certification from the Responsible Supply Chain Initiative (RSCI) e.V. at the end of 2024. The RSCI certification process involves a rigorous, standardised assessment that evaluates sustainability performance and ensures transparency in working conditions within the automotive supply chain.
The RSCI e.V. association, founded in 2021 by the Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) along with key industry players such as Daimler AG, Volkswagen AG, and BMW AG, aims to enhance the sustainability of companies in their supply chains through direct site assessments. In 2023, Linglong Tire became the first and only tyre manufacturer to join this alliance, demonstrating its leadership in sustainable practices within the tyre industry.
The certification process included an in-depth evaluation of the Zrenjanin plant, where Linglong produces original equipment (OE) tyres predominantly for the European market. This is not the company's first experience with RSCI standards; its Zhaoyuan factory in China underwent a similar certification process earlier in 2023.
Commitment to Sustainability and Growth
Michael Beverin, Director OE Sales & OE Quality at Linglong Germany GmbH, commented on the achievement:
"We are very pleased about the successful certification of the Responsible Supply Chain Initiative RSCI! As a tire manufacturer, we have great responsibility towards the environment and people in China, in Serbia and all over the world. The certification that has now taken place shows that Linglong Tire attaches great importance to environmental and occupational safety as well as sustainability, an indispensable prerequisite for further growth in the original equipment business and for achieving our ambitious goals.”
This latest certification aligns with Linglong's broader strategy to strengthen its position in the European market while maintaining a strong focus on sustainability and ethical business practices.
About the RSCI Certification
The RSCI certification is a benchmark for companies within the automotive supply chain, focusing on sustainability, ethical working conditions, and transparency. Companies are evaluated through on-site assessments, ensuring compliance with high standards of corporate responsibility.
By joining and meeting the standards of RSCI e.V., Linglong Tire is not only enhancing its credibility with major automotive manufacturers but also contributing positively to global sustainability efforts.
