International Tyres and ZC Rubber have used this year's Road Transport Expo at NAEC Stoneleigh to signal a tighter UK focus for Westlake's truck and bus radial portfolio. The move pairs a top-nine global tyre maker with a specialist distributor, with new second-series patterns and brand support designed to lift Westlake's visibility and sell-out performance in the domestic TBR market.
International Tyres said the appointment strengthens its offer of high-value options and clear differentials for UK truck operators. "We are confident in the product, the investment in innovation and sales support," the company stated, adding that support from ZC Rubber's head office and UK team has smoothed the transition of the Westlake Truck programme earlier this year.
The partnership represents a strategic alignment between ZC Rubber's manufacturing scale and International Tyres' established distribution network and market knowledge in the UK commercial vehicle sector.
The refreshed line-up features the non-directional WDM2 mixed-service tyre, now available in 315/70R22.5, alongside the WDA2 drive and WSA2 steer for on-road applications. ZC Rubber continues to invest in distinct Westlake patterns developed for UK conditions and in tools that help stockists drive sell-out.
The second-series patterns signal ongoing product development aimed at meeting the specific demands of the UK truck market, with the WDM2 offering versatility for mixed-service applications whilst the WDA2 and WSA2 provide dedicated solutions for drive and steer axle positions.
To raise the brand's profile, International Tyres has appointed Paige Key as Brand Ambassador – Westlake TBR. Her remit includes mapping UK road performance, spotlighting core fitments and building a clearer proposition for dealers.
Andrew Reitzner, UK National Sales Manager at ZC Rubber, is supporting the initiative as Westlake expands engagement with fleets and wholesalers. The dedicated brand ambassador role underscores the commitment both parties are making to building Westlake's presence in the UK truck tyre segment.
The partnership brings additional competition to the UK truck segment at a time when fleets are reassessing lifetime cost and availability. It also aligns with Westlake's wider European activity; Tyre News previously covered "Westlake sets out fleet service strategy in Europe."
The collaboration marks a strategic step for both parties, combining ZC Rubber's manufacturing scale and product development capability with International Tyres' distribution network and market knowledge. With dedicated brand support now in place, the partners are positioning Westlake as a credible alternative in a market segment increasingly focused on total cost of ownership and supply chain resilience.
The announcement at Road Transport Expo positions Westlake to capitalise on growing fleet interest in alternative premium brands that can offer competitive pricing without compromising on performance or support infrastructure.
