HiQ Tyres & Autocare has announced a new partnership with HPL Motors, opening a dual-branded sales and servicing facility at HPL Motors' car supermarket in Stockport, Greater Manchester. The collaboration aims to deliver a comprehensive motoring solution by combining vehicle sales with trusted autocare services under one roof.
Under the agreement, HiQ Tyres & Autocare will operate all servicing, repair and MOT functions at the site, enabling customers to access the company's established expertise within the dealership environment. The integration follows a growing trend in the industry where recognised servicing brands are being incorporated into established vehicle retail operations.
HPL Motors operates five used car supermarkets across the North West and views the partnership as a strategic response to evolving customer expectations. The Stockport centre will leverage the strength of the HiQ Tyres & Autocare brand, which forms part of the Goodyear network, to provide motorists with seamless access to both vehicle purchasing and ongoing maintenance.
Sarah Gumbley, Retail Business Consultant at Goodyear, described the partnership as an important development for drivers in Greater Manchester. "This is the first step in an exciting partnership that aims to transform the car-buying and servicing experience for drivers in Greater Manchester," she said. "Our shared goal is to give customers the confidence that the same high standard of transparency and reliability applies from the moment they choose their vehicle right through to its ongoing maintenance."
The Stockport facility is managed by Scott Elwood, who has taken on an expanded remit to oversee the HiQ Tyres & Autocare operation alongside a team of nine staff covering technical and customer service functions.
Elwood highlighted the complementary nature of the partnership, noting that many vehicle purchasers already return to HPL Motors for servicing due to the company's reputation for honesty and quality. "Partnering with HiQ Tyres & Autocare allows us to strengthen that experience further by offering a complete sales-and-servicing solution under one roof," he said.
He added that the collaboration brings together two respected industry names with shared values built over decades, enhancing the service offering for existing customers whilst also attracting new visitors through the HiQ Tyres & Autocare brand.
The HiQ Tyres & Autocare Stockport centre is now accepting bookings. Customers can visit the facility on St Mary's Way, Stockport, or use HiQ Tyres & Autocare's online booking platform to schedule appointments with instant pricing.
HiQ is part of the Goodyear retail network and operates more than 190 centres nationwide, providing a recognised servicing standard within independent and franchise locations. Demand for compliant maintenance remains high: Tyre News recently reported a HiQ study indicating that almost one in five newer vehicles failed their first MOT, underscoring the role of tyre checks and routine upkeep in keeping cars roadworthy. That makes on-site MOT capability at point-of-sale especially relevant to buyers planning maintenance budgets.
