GT Radial Launches Maxmiler Pro2 with Improved Fuel Efficiency and Wet Braking

GT Radial has introduced the Maxmiler Pro2, an upgraded version of its popular light truck tyre that promises meaningful gains in both economy and safety for commercial operators.

The new tyre achieves a 15% reduction in rolling resistance compared to its predecessor, translating directly into lower fuel consumption, a key consideration for fleet operators and owner-drivers alike. Alongside this, GT Radial has delivered an 8% improvement in wet braking performance, giving drivers shorter stopping distances in adverse conditions.

Built on Proven Foundations

The Maxmiler Pro2 retains the reinforced construction and flat contour of the original Maxmiler Pro, both of which contribute to extended tread life under demanding loads. The efficiency gains come from optimised rubber compounds that reduce rolling resistance without compromising durability, while the wet braking improvements are the result of refined siping and reworked shoulder blocks that enhance grip in wet conditions without detracting from dry-road performance.

Who Is It For?

The Pro2 is aimed squarely at light commercial vehicles, vans and trucks used in everyday hauling, urban deliveries, and long-distance work. GT Radial has paid particular attention to sidewall protection, making the tyre well suited to urban environments where kerbing is an occupational hazard. For operators, the combination of reduced running costs and improved wet-weather handling makes a compelling case for the Pro2 as a practical, cost-effective choice.

Availability

The Maxmiler Pro2 launched in early 2026 and sits within GT Radial's growing commercial lineup, complementing all-season options such as the AllSeason2. Full availability details can be obtained through GT Radial's UK distribution network.

The launch also lands as manufacturers put more emphasis on auditability and sustainability credentials across tyre supply chains. Tyre News recently reported on Giti Tire securing ISCC PLUS certification for two Chinese plants supplying EU-bound tyres, signalling a parallel focus on traceable materials and compliance expectations.
