FIEGE has started operations at a new multi-user logistics centre at Hams Hall, near Birmingham, marking the German group’s entry into Great Britain. The facility provides more than 24,000 square metres of space for eCommerce fulfilment and is expected to create up to 750 jobs as additional UK customers come on stream, according to the company’s announcement on 8 October 2025.
The Hams Hall site extends FIEGE’s European footprint to the UK, supporting a portfolio customer already served by the group elsewhere in Europe. FIEGE said the move “closes a gap” in its regional presence, allowing more consistent service levels for cross-border clients using its fulfilment and digital solutions.
Co-Chief Executive Jens Fiege said the UK launch strengthens the company’s network while backing growth for a key eCommerce customer. Fellow Co-CEO Felix Fiege called the opening a milestone that will enable “better and more comprehensive services” across Europe as the team builds new UK customer relationships.
Hams Hall is a West Midlands logistics cluster with motorway access and an intermodal rail freight terminal operated by Associated British Ports, handling over 100,000 sea containers annually—useful for high-volume, time-sensitive tyre and parts flows into the Midlands and beyond. Prologis’ park information underscores the site’s UK-wide reach for manufacturing and distribution.
For tyre wholesalers and fleet service providers, additional third-party capacity in the Midlands should support UK next-day delivery targets and seasonal peaks. It also aligns with recent sector activity focused on service coverage and uptime for operators, such as Halfords’ new commercial tyre depot in Avonmouth and Westlake’s Europe-wide fleet service push, both reflecting demand for dependable national networks.
Specialist logistics in and around Birmingham already supports automotive and parts distribution, with established occupiers and through-rail links to ports such as Southampton and Felixstowe. For tyre brands developing European dealer and fleet programmes, UK fulfilment capacity at a rail-connected site can reduce lead times and help stabilise inventory during import volatility.
