Halfords Commercial Fleet Services has opened a new commercial tyre depot in Avonmouth, expanding regional support for fleet operators across Bristol and the South West. The site, which became operational in mid-August 2025, is designed to handle rising call-outs and scheduled tyre work for trucks, vans and cars. Halfords says the investment follows sustained local growth and aligns with its services-led strategy.

Why Avonmouth, Why Now

Avonmouth’s logistics hub status, serving ports, distribution centres and last-mile fleets, continues to drive tyre demand. Halfords’ new commercial tyre depot adds capacity close to major routes, enabling faster response times for breakdowns and planned maintenance.

“As our customer base in Avonmouth continues to grow, we made the strategic decision to invest in a brand-new depot to better support increasing demand. We're delighted to announce that the Avonmouth Depot is now officially open and fully operational,” Greg Ward, Commercial Sales Director at Halfords Commercial Fleet Services.

Team and Capability

The commercial tyre depot launches with an experienced on-site team:

  • Jon Billings, Depot Manager & Master Technician
  • Ashley Batterbee, Master Commercial Technician
  • Joshua Hiscocks, Master Commercial Technician
  • Lucas Cardone, Car/Van Technician on the Truck Training Programme

Services include fleet tyre inspections, on-site fitting and rapid call-outs, with integration to Halfords’ wider network for stock and scheduling support.

Fit with Halfords’ Services Strategy

The opening complements Halfords’ ongoing push to scale services for fleets and complex vehicle users. Recent coverage on Tyre News highlighted Halfords’ services-led direction at group level and operational delivery in the field:
