The 112th edition of the Tour de France will see Continental once again playing a key role in tyre supply and support, as the race spans 3,320 km across France this July. The company will provide its sustainable UltraContact NXT tyres for all official support and supply vehicles, and for the first time, will also equip the organiser's motorcycles. In addition, seven leading teams will ride on Continental bicycle tyres throughout the 21-stage race.
All official Tour support vehicles will run on Continental's UltraContact NXT tyre – a model combining up to 65% renewable, recycled, and ISCC PLUS mass balance certified materials. Already used in 2024, the tyre achieves top scores in EU labelling for rolling resistance, wet grip, and noise.
Continental sees the Tour de France as a platform to showcase the product’s real-world performance. Egemen Atış, Head of Strategy, Analytics & Marketing at Continental Tires EMEA, highlighted that over 70 vehicles will be equipped, contributing to both safety and environmental responsibility.
Among the 22 teams competing, seven will race on Continental tyres in 2025:
▪ INEOS Grenadiers
▪ Movistar Team
▪ Team Bahrain Victorious
▪ UAE Team Emirates-XRG
▪ Groupama-FDJ
▪ Decathlon-AG2R La Mondiale
▪ Uno-X Mobility
Continental’s Grand Prix 5000 series tyres – including the GP5000 S TR, all-weather GP5000 AS TR, and time trial-specific GP5000 TT TR – are credited with contributing to rising average race speeds. The tyres feature advanced Black Chilli compounds, Lazer Grip technology, and optimised tread design to support performance, grip, and puncture resistance.
A new addition in 2025 is the exclusive use of Continental tyres for the Tour’s support motorcycles. Thirty Kawasaki Versys 1100 bikes will use ContiRoadAttack 4 tyres, chosen for their grip across temperature ranges, fast warm-up time, and stability on both alpine and rural roads. The tyres are fitted in 120/70 R 17 and 180/55 R 17 sizes and will be used across all 21 stages.
