RAM Tracking and Klipboard Unite Fleet and Job Platforms

RAM Tracking is expanding beyond vehicle telematics after parent company Klipboard combined the business with its Klipboard.io field service platform. Klipboard.io will become RAM Job Management, creating a portfolio that links vehicle tracking, compliance and driver data with job scheduling, invoicing and mobile workflows for trade and field service operators.

A wider operational platform

The change follows Klipboard’s acquisition of RAM Tracking, which was announced in March 2025. That deal added vehicle tracking, asset monitoring, video systems and compliance tools to Klipboard’s field service software portfolio.

Tyre News previously reported on Klipboard’s acquisition of RAM Tracking, highlighting the group’s aim to connect fleet and field operations. The latest move takes that process further by placing both products within the RAM range.

Klipboard, formerly Kerridge Commercial Systems, says Klipboard.io will now operate as RAM Job Management. The field service platform covers scheduling, digital job records, evidence capture, quotations, invoicing and payment processing.

Closing the gap between vehicles and jobs

The combination targets businesses that currently use separate systems to manage vehicles, engineers and customer work.

Ian Bendelow, chief executive of Klipboard, said trade businesses had previously needed different tools, suppliers and support teams for job management, compliance and fleet tracking.

“Bringing together RAM Tracking and Klipboard.io is about changing that reality,” Bendelow said. He added that combining the businesses should create a more useful proposition for their customers.

In practice, the group wants vehicle information to form part of a wider operational record. Managers could eventually view the progress of a job alongside the location of the assigned vehicle and engineer.

That approach reflects a wider move towards connected fleet data. Core fleet tools will remain

RAM Tracking says customers will retain access to its vehicle tracking, driver behaviour, fuel management and compliance functions during the transition.

The company plans to develop a central fleet platform rather than continue operating separate products for tracking, connected cameras and compliance. Proposed functions include a fuel finder designed to identify lower-cost filling options for drivers.

Nicholas McClellan, chief executive of RAM Tracking, said vehicle tracking alone no longer meets the requirements of many fleet-based businesses.

“The businesses winning in this market are those that can connect fleet performance to job outcomes, compliance and cashflow,” he said.

The significance for tyre and fleet service providers lies in that connection. Better links between jobs, mileage, vehicle use and maintenance records could support more informed servicing decisions. They could also help suppliers demonstrate how tyre work affects vehicle availability and operating costs.

Phased integration planned

RAM Tracking and RAM Job Management will initially continue as specialist platforms. Klipboard says deeper integration will follow without reducing the functionality of either product.

Richard Blown, chief technology officer at RAM Tracking, said the company would not rush the process. He said customers selected each platform for its specialist capabilities and that any integration must maintain that standard.

No timetable has been disclosed for a fully unified platform. Customers will therefore need further information about data migration, pricing and the functions available at each stage.

The announcement nevertheless indicates Klipboard’s direction. It is positioning RAM as a broader operational technology brand rather than a standalone vehicle tracking supplier.

For commercial tyre businesses, the development is relevant because fleet software increasingly shapes maintenance scheduling, compliance reporting and supplier relationships. Tyre providers that can connect service data with these platforms may gain a clearer role in customers’ wider fleet operations.
