Apollo Tyres has been named the sole corporate recipient of the Mahatma Award 2025 for Corporate Environment Responsibility Excellence, recognising its environmental stewardship and community impact. The accolade was presented in early October 2025, with Head of Sustainability and CSR Rinika Grover receiving the honour from philanthropist Amit Sachdeva.
The award aligns with Apollo’s recent sustainability milestones and ongoing programmes across its global operations.
The Mahatma Award highlights organisations delivering measurable progress on environmental responsibility and social impact. Apollo Tyres’ selection as the only corporate recipient in 2025 underscores the company’s expanding sustainability agenda and public reporting, including detailed metrics in its FY25 Sustainability Report.
“We are deeply honoured to receive the Mahatma Award for Corporate Environment Responsibility Excellence. This recognition reflects our steadfast commitment to nurturing a sustainable global environment. At the heart of our mission is a commitment to not only meet but exceed environmental standards, ensuring that our actions contribute positively to the planet and communities we serve. This award inspires us to continue driving innovative solutions that balance economic growth with ecological stewardship, embodying the values of responsibility and sustainability in everything we do.” - Rinika Grover, Head of Sustainability and CSR at Apollo Tyres
Apollo plants achieved British Safety Council five-star ratings earlier this year, with the company also securing an EcoVadis Gold standing noted as relevant to buyers.
The firm continues long-running community health programmes for the trucking workforce across India, expanding the number of centres and beneficiaries in 2025.
The Mahatma Award recognises contributions rooted in values associated with Mahatma Gandhi (truth, non-violence, social justice and equality) spanning sectors such as environmental conservation and social responsibility. Apollo’s recognition falls within the award’s Corporate Environment Responsibility category for 2025.
