Stone Tyres Ltd has reached a significant milestone, celebrating 10 years in business with an impressive track record of growth and customer satisfaction.
The St Helens-based company has transformed from its humble beginnings as a one-man operation in a small council unit to a thriving business with 11 staff members operating from a prime town centre location, which the company now owns.
Director John Stone reflected candidly on the journey: "I'm not going to lie and say it's been easy. The journey has been full of highs and lows, but we've stood the test of time."
What sets Stone Tyres apart is its consistency and reliability. "We've never folded, phoenixed, changed names or owners," Stone explained. "We've just turned up day in day out, built on relationships, delivered excellent customer service and grew as a business."
The company's commitment to customer satisfaction is evidenced by its impressive credentials. Stone Tyres holds the distinction of being the highest-rated tyre garage in the UK, with over 2,500 Google reviews and a five-star rating, demonstrating the exceptional service it delivers consistently.
The accolades continue to mount, with Stone Tyres claiming NTDA Retailer of the Year 2025 by public vote, Tyresafe Retailer of the Year three times, and St Helens Chamber Business of the Year.
Stone emphasised that success hasn't come from customer relationships alone. "The relationships with suppliers have also been a key part in helping us to achieve 10 years in business," he said. "Suppliers that get the vision, see the graft put in, and truly support every step of the way."
Looking ahead, Stone Tyres is nearing completion on a new MOT and service centre, which has already secured substantial work commitments before opening its doors.
The company also operates Gorilla Tyres, a mobile tyre-fitting service covering Merseyside and surrounding areas. The service offers flexible payment options, including pay-monthly tyres, providing additional convenience for customers.
