Paxxon is using IAA Transportation 2026 to put its PDL78 long-haul drive tyre and wider commercial range in front of European fleets, with total cost of ownership and cost per kilometre central to its message. The Hannover appearance follows the PDL78’s launch earlier this year and continued investment in European fleet testing, logistics and local support.

Paxxon has brought its PDL78 long-haul drive tyre to IAA Transportation 2026 as part of a wider effort to demonstrate commercial tyre performance in terms of fleet operating cost rather than purchase price alone.

The Hannover exhibition runs from 15 to 20 September. Paxxon is displaying long-haul, regional and mixed-service applications, with mileage, rolling resistance, durability and operating costs among the areas being emphasised.

The PDL78 is not a new launch at IAA. Paxxon announced the PDL78 P-PREM in February 2026 as a long-distance drive-axle tyre developed for European long-haul operations, highlighting a high-wear compound, stepped tread blocks and 3D grooves.

Since then, the company has increasingly positioned the tyre around its potential contribution to total cost of ownership. Paxxon says the PDL78 has achieved EU fuel-efficiency grade B and claims fuel consumption can be reduced by approximately 3–5% compared with conventional tyres. It also claims service life can be extended by around 20%.

Those figures remain manufacturer claims. Publicly available material reviewed by TNM does not provide enough detail on comparator products or test methodology to treat them as independently verified fleet results.

Paxxon’s broader TCO message extends beyond fuel and mileage. The company has highlighted maintenance costs, downtime and replacement frequency as part of the lifecycle cost equation, arguing that tyre selection should be assessed against cost per kilometre and the demands of the specific application rather than initial purchase price alone.

Paxxon says it already supplies more than 300 fleet customers across Europe, which the company has identified as a key focus for its initial market development.

That approach is also reflected in Paxxon’s use of fleet operating cases and direct customer engagement in Europe. The company has reported customer visits and product discussions in Germany, France, the Netherlands and Belgium, using feedback from different transport operations to inform product and service development.

Paxxon has also completed what it describes as an S2W2R3B performance upgrade across its commercial-vehicle tyre range. The company says the programme addresses handling stability, wet performance, rolling resistance and longer-term performance requirements under European operating conditions.

As with the PDL78 mileage and fuel claims, the technical significance of that programme should be distinguished from independent comparative testing. Paxxon has presented the work as part of its effort to align its commercial range with evolving European performance requirements.

The company has meanwhile been developing a more localised European supply structure. Paxxon says its Netherlands operation was established in December 2024, followed by a warehouse in Poland in June 2025, giving it distribution points intended to support customers across western, central and eastern Europe.

Its 2026 brand positioning has placed European truck fleets at the centre of that development, combining local stock, fleet testing, product feedback and commercial tyre products designed around different operating applications.

IAA therefore gives Paxxon a prominent platform for an existing product rather than a new launch. The more important test of its TCO proposition will come as additional European fleet mileage generates clearer evidence on fuel use, durability, downtime and cost per kilometre.
