The inaugural OS Invitational Charity Golf Day at The Dyke Golf Club, Brighton (23 July 2025) brought together suppliers, dealers and motor-trade partners for a fiercely contested Ryder Cup-style match – and, more importantly, delivered £12,510 for automotive charity Ben, which supports the health and wellbeing of everyone working in the UK automotive and tyre supply chain.
Led by captain Luke Stewart, Team 67 Degrees secured a 10-6 victory over Daniel Sams’ Team Octane Finance after 18 holes on the par-72 South Downs course.
“The competitive spirit was fantastic, but the real winner was Ben and our industry community,” said Laura Coleby, CEO, 67 Degrees.
Corporate donations from both headline sponsors were bolstered by mulligan cards, a 50/50 raffle and an auction for BTCC hospitality tickets – helped by reigning champion Tom Ingram, who swapped the driver’s seat for the fairways on the day. Ben-themed quizzes and spin-the-wheel challenges dotted the course, ensuring every swing counted.
Ellen Plumer, Head of Awareness & Experience at Ben, welcomed the outcome:
“£12,510 will directly change lives, helping automotive workers navigate mental-health, physical-wellbeing and financial challenges.”
The event attracted broad trade support, with Leadly, Warrantywise, Autotrader, Phyron AI, Codeweavers and more sponsoring holes and prizes. Their backing underscores a growing sector trend: pairing networking days with mental-health fundraising.
67 Degrees and Octane Finance have collaborated since 2022 on digital projects; the golf day extends that partnership into community impact. Dan Horner, Managing Director, Octane Finance, summed it up:
“We didn’t lift the trophy, but the funds raised will make a real difference. We’ll be back stronger next year.”
After the “record-breaking” first edition, organisers intend to make the OS Invitational an annual highlight on the automotive calendar – with both teams already plotting a 2026 rematch.
