Michelin has confirmed the phased global rollout of the XHA3, its new-generation construction tyre for loaders, articulated dump trucks and graders, following its first public launch at ConExpo-Con/Agg 2026 in Las Vegas.
The XHA3 builds on the XHA2 line and is being positioned as a consolidation product within Michelin’s earthmover and construction portfolio. Michelin North America said at launch that the tyre replaces the XHA2, XADN+, XAD65 and XLD lines, making it the company’s most significant update in this segment for more than a decade.
Michelin’s latest release, published on 7 July 2026, adds detail on the global rollout and technical claims behind the tyre. The 29.5 R25 size made its US debut in June 2026 and is scheduled for launch in Asia in September 2026 and Europe in October 2026. Further sizes will follow, with 23.5 R25 due in October 2026 and 26.5 R25 expected in January 2027.
The XHA3 has been developed for E3, L3 and G3 applications, covering loaders, ADTs and graders. Michelin says the tyre is designed to support faster, more intensive cycles across mixed site conditions, from mud to asphalt and more aggressive operating environments.
Michelin says the tyre offers up to 20% greater wear life compared with the previous generation, while a reinforced bead area provides up to 20% additional load capacity, depending on size and application. The company also estimates a 16% reduction in total cost of ownership compared with the predecessor tyre.
For operators, the practical issue will be duty matching rather than headline capability. Higher payload potential and improved TKPH performance may support longer cycles or heavier loading, but only where site conditions, machine configuration and heat build-up are properly calculated.
One notable addition is Michelin Visual Pressure Control, a patent-pending sidewall feature intended to give operators a quick visual indication of inflation status during daily checks.
Michelin says the feature does not require electronic devices, sensors or external systems. That makes it a pragmatic addition for harsh construction environments, where pressure discipline remains one of the simplest ways to protect casing value, reduce downtime and support retreadability.
The XHA3 launch reflects two wider pressures in the OTR market: heavier construction machines and the continued push to reduce tyre-related operating costs through longer service life, casing protection and simplified fitment.
The consolidation of four previous Michelin lines into one product also matters for dealers and fleet managers. A broader-use tyre can reduce inventory complexity, but it also places more importance on correct application advice. The XHA3 is not just a replacement pattern; it is Michelin’s attempt to align its construction tyre offer with higher-output machines and tighter uptime expectations.
