Linglong celebrates 50th year with bio-based, airless and self-healing tyres.

Linglong Tire marked its 50th anniversary last week by hosting the Global Partners Conference 2025 at its headquarters in Zhaoyuan, China, where the company showcased groundbreaking tyre innovations and outlined its strategic vision for the future.

Under the banner "Linglong 50 – Always Forward", the event brought together tyre industry experts and international stakeholders to reflect on the company's five-decade journey from a small factory on the Jiaodong Peninsula to a global manufacturer exporting to 173 countries worldwide.

In his keynote address, President and CEO Wang Feng credited the company's success to collaborative partnerships with consultants, universities, financial institutions, suppliers and customers. He emphasised that mutual trust and permanent cooperation had been instrumental in Linglong's transformation into a leading global tyre manufacturer.

Future-focused strategy

Looking ahead, Wang outlined the company's ambition to build an open, smart, synergistic and global industrial ecosystem. The strategy centres on promoting efficient collaboration throughout the entire value chain through technological innovation, whilst maintaining a steadfast focus on customer needs.

The conference featured high-level discussions on green and intelligent transformations within the tyre industry. Linglong recognised longstanding partners including Bekaert and VMI for their continued support, whilst distinguished guests such as Serbian Ambassador to China Maja Stefanovic and Academician Zhang Liqun praised the company's leadership in fostering international cooperation and advancing new technologies.

Sustainable innovation showcase

Linglong presented three key technological developments that underscore its commitment to sustainable development:

Bio-based materials: The company unveiled tyres manufactured from 79 per cent bio-based, sustainable materials, significantly enhancing resource efficiency and reducing environmental impact.

Self-healing intelligent tyres: These innovative products feature an intelligent self-repair system designed to increase proactive safety and take tyre safety to a new level through autonomous damage mitigation.

Airless tyre technology: Linglong demonstrated its air-free tyre technology, positioning the company for future mobility ecosystems and addressing puncture-related safety concerns.

Strategic partnerships

The manufacturer also announced several strategic agreements with leading institutions and companies during the conference. These collaborations encompass new materials development, renewable energy integration and digitalisation initiatives, signalling Linglong's evolution from traditional supply chain relationships towards an integrated ecosystem approach spanning the entire value chain.

The conference reinforced Linglong Tire's position as a forward-thinking manufacturer committed to sustainability, innovation and international collaboration as it enters its sixth decade of operations.
