JK Tyre & Industries marked World Manufacturing Day on 3 October 2025 by highlighting a sweep of safety and sustainability milestones across its plants in India and Mexico. The company reported British Safety Council Five-Star Safety Rating audits and Sword of Honour awards at every site, Globe of Honour recognition at two Indian plants, and third-party Environmental Product Declarations for three products. Its Chennai facility also holds ISCC Plus certification for renewable and recycled materials use.
JK Tyre said all plants in India and Mexico achieved the British Safety Council Five-Star Safety Rating following rigorous audits, with each site also receiving the Sword of Honour. The honours recognise comprehensive health and safety management systems and workforce protection practices.
“Our founding values of safety, sustainability, and care drive every decision we make. The recognition by the British Safety Council and our global certifications stands as a testament to our dedication to excellence and our responsibility to people, our planet, and progress,” said Dr. Raghupati Singhania, Chairman and Managing Director, JK Tyre & Industries Ltd.

JK Tyre became the first Indian tyre manufacturer to publish Environmental Product Declarations for three products made at its Vikrant, Cavendish, and Chennai facilities. The verified EPDs provide lifecycle impact data to support procurement decisions. The Chennai plant also holds ISCC Plus certification, which validates traceable renewable and recycled inputs in passenger tyre production.
The company’s decarbonisation pathway includes Science-Based Targets initiative validation, aiming to halve carbon intensity by 2030 and reach carbon neutrality by 2050. These goals inform investment in materials, processes, and energy sourcing across the network.
Recent developments indicate wider commercial momentum. Expanded US exports leveraging Mexico-based manufacturing strengthen North American access amid tariff changes. See Mexico base to lift US exports for context. The ISCC Plus-certified green passenger tyre launch also shows movement from certification to product in market.
