Bridgestone Recognises Eden Tyres Oakham for ESG Leadership

Eden Tyres & Servicing Oakham has been awarded Bridgestone UK’s e-CENTRE status, marking it as one of the country’s most forward-focused tyre retailers. The recognition follows a rigorous evaluation against 80 environmental, social, and operational criteria, positioning the depot as a model for excellence and customer-centred automotive retailing.

What is Bridgestone’s e-CENTRE Programme?

The e-CENTRE initiative was developed by Bridgestone UK in collaboration with Ernst & Young to assess and promote ESG-focused best practices across its retail network. The framework evaluates retailers on carbon impact, staff training, service quality, and digital customer experience. It forms part of Bridgestone’s wider commitment to its E8 corporate values, which aim to steer global operations toward more sustainable and people-centric outcomes.

Eden Tyres & Servicing Oakham: Leading by Example

Located at Tungsten Park, the Oakham branch of Eden Tyres passed the e-CENTRE audit by embracing a series of key improvements:
▪ Measuring branch CO₂ output using TrackZero Monitoring Technology
▪ Staff development focused on premium product performance and safety
▪ Plans to adopt renewable energy and electric vehicle infrastructure

These measures support both operational efficiency and environmental responsibility, aligning with the evolving expectations of modern motorists.

Industry Recognition and Expansion Plans

Matt Eden, Managing Director at Eden Tyres & Servicing, said the award reflected long-standing company values: a commitment to progress, professional training, and sustainable service delivery.

Bridgestone UK’s North Europe Head of Marketing, Andy Mathias, described the Oakham site as “setting a new standard for tyre retail,” noting that the achievement is part of a larger plan to accredit 150 e-CENTRE garages across Europe. With £1 million invested in the programme to date, the scheme is seen as a blueprint for the future of customer-focused and climate-aware mobility.

Alan Wilson, founder of TrackZero, praised Eden Tyres for its measurable progress, calling it a benchmark example for the sector.
