EcoMotive has launched an updated version of its Tyre Fix puncture prevention system, featuring a reformulated sealant, revised kit contents and new packaging. The core function remains unchanged: providing an in-tyre protective coating designed to prevent flat tyres caused by punctures.
The product creates a protective layer on the tyre's inner liner, sealing punctures as they happen. This aims to prevent sudden deflation and reduce the likelihood of flat tyres during normal driving conditions.
Designed as a single-application treatment, Tyre Fix is intended to last for the entire lifespan of the tyre, offering long-term protection rather than a temporary fix.
According to EcoMotive, the product helps maintain tyre pressure by minimising air loss caused by porosity. By reducing operating temperatures within the tyre casing, it may also extend tyre life.
The company and its distributors suggest that properly maintained tyre pressure could contribute to fuel savings of up to approximately 3%, though actual results will vary depending on driving conditions and vehicle type.
Unlike aerosol emergency puncture repair cans, Tyre Fix is supplied as a gel-like sealant that's applied inside the tyre. It's typically sold as part of a "rescue kit" or "gel kit" that often includes an air compressor for reinflating the tyre after treatment.
The product is marketed as compatible with tubed, tubeless and run-flat tyres across various vehicle types, with specific applications depending on the kit selected.
EcoMotive positions the latest Tyre Fix as an enhancement to an already well-established product in its portfolio.
