Davanti's Protoura Race tyres have demonstrated their competitive prowess at the 10 Horas Ecuador (10 Hours of Ecuador), one of the country's premier endurance motor racing events, whilst simultaneously cementing the brand's position in the South American market through a significant championship partnership.
The event, held at the Autódromo José Tobar in Yahuarcocha, Ibarra, saw national and international drivers competing on Davanti rubber, with 58 of the 78 competing teams fitted with Protoura Race tyres across four different categories.
The race marks the beginning of a three-year agreement with FEDAK (Ecuadorian Automobile and Karting Federation), establishing Davanti as the official tyre supplier for Ecuador's National Circuit Championship. The partnership, brokered through Davanti's Ecuadorian customer Llantas 247, means that drivers across all applicable categories will compete on Protoura Race tyres, securing supply within the territory through at least 2027.
The technical performance of the Protoura Race at the event proved particularly impressive, with the tyres demonstrating remarkable longevity on what is known to be an extremely abrasive circuit. Whilst teams typically expect to use more than five sets of tyres during a 10-hour endurance race, competitors running on Davanti rubber averaged just three to four sets throughout the event.
In a striking demonstration of the tyre's durability, one team completed both the entire qualifying session and the full 10-hour race on a single set of tyres—an exceptional achievement that underscores the product's efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
The performance advantages translated directly into competitive success. A factory-specification racing Renault Clio, which had experienced tyre failures with a premium competitor during testing, switched to Davanti and subsequently claimed first place in its category whilst also recording the fastest lap of the race.
Davanti capitalised on the event to maximise brand exposure, with prominent branding displayed throughout the circuit. The activation reached trackside spectators, a national television audience, and viewers on local digital channels. Llantas 247 further amplified Davanti's presence by establishing a dedicated stand at the paddock entrance and providing a mobile workshop offering complimentary mounting and balancing services, effectively positioning Davanti as the central hub for competing teams.
Federico Diaz, Davanti International Sales & Marketing Executive for Latin America, commented: "The high-frequency brand exposure that we received across national media helps us to build mass-market trust and accelerates our transition from a 'new player' to a household name. The premium service at the track also helped to highlight our professional positioning in the market and increased our customer retention.
"The Protoura Race's performance on the track and technical feedback was consistently positive, especially when it came to efficiency and longevity. When it comes to product performance, the efficiency of Protoura Race is our strongest sales argument. We offer 'podium performance' with a significantly lower cost-per-kilometre than the competition."
With the successful debut behind them, the Davanti team and Llantas 247 are now focused on the remainder of the championship season, including the upcoming 12 Hours of Ecuador, where they aim to build upon this initial success both on and off the track.
The Protoura Race, Davanti's first track-specific tyre, features a semi-slick tread design that balances excellent dry grip with wet weather capability. The tyre has also been selected as the control tyre for the 2025 inaugural Suzuki Swift Challenge and the Mini Challenge Clubsport series in the UK, further testament to its competitive credentials.
Davanti Tyres, launched in 2015 and based in northern England, designs all its products in the UK with experienced industry experts. The tyres are manufactured to exacting E-mark standards and tested at Europe's leading proving grounds, including Davanti's European Development Centre at Applus IDIADA in Spain. The brand now exports to more than 80 countries worldwide.
