BKT Tyre has announced it has achieved a score of 58 in the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), marking notable progress in the company's environmental, social, and governance performance.
The S&P Global CSA is one of the longest-running and most widely recognised global sustainability benchmarks, evaluating companies across various industries on material ESG risks and opportunities. The assessment serves as a key reference point for investors and organisations worldwide and forms the foundation for the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI).

According to BKT, the upgraded score demonstrates significant advancement across all three ESG dimensions – Environmental, Social, and Governance – underscoring the Indian tyre manufacturer's commitment to long-term sustainability and responsible business practices.
The company credited its workforce for the achievement, stating: "This milestone would not have been possible without the dedication and hard work of every member of the BKT family. A sincere thank-you to our entire team for contributing to this important achievement."
The CSA score comes as sustainability credentials increasingly influence purchasing decisions and investment strategies within the tyre industry, with manufacturers facing growing pressure to demonstrate measurable progress on environmental and social governance matters.
BKT has been expanding its presence in various off-highway tyre segments, including agricultural, industrial, construction, and mining applications, whilst simultaneously working to strengthen its sustainability profile across operations.
ESG credentials increasingly shape purchasing decisions in agriculture, construction and mining. For BKT, the CSA score aligns with wider operational moves, from governance changes in its sales structure to capacity and resource-efficiency projects. Recent coverage on Tyre News includes BKT Europe’s restructuring of its global OEM sales organisation, aimed at simplifying decision-making and commercial governance, and a carbon black capacity expansion designed to improve self-sufficiency and sustainability outcomes.
In practice, BKT has highlighted water stewardship, such as zero-liquid-discharge operations at Bhuj and rainwater harvesting across sites, as well as broader social impact initiatives in its latest performance reporting. These programmes help translate governance commitments into measurable environmental results that procurement teams can audit.
