Alliance has surpassed one million Agri Star II tyres sold worldwide since the line launched in 2020. Building on that momentum in its 70th anniversary year, Yokohama Off-Highway Tires has introduced a row crop version aimed at sprayers and narrow-row applications. The new fitments promise road stability and field traction, underpinned by the brand’s Stratified Layer Technology.
The Agri Star II has become a volume pillar for Alliance in less than five years, passing the one-million mark globally. The company says the row crop addition extends the platform into specialist duties where speed, precision and footprint are critical between fields and along rural roads.
SLT is central to the tread design. Each lug has two layers at different angles. As the upper layer wears, the lower layer engages to preserve biting edges. Alliance says traction is maintained even after about 40% tread wear, helping fleets that clock heavy road miles between spray windows.
Multi-angled lugs are designed to grip in the row while supporting braking and steering on the road. The tread geometry aims to limit soil compaction around sensitive crops. A wear-resistant compound with a stubble guard helps defend the casing against residue damage, reducing unplanned service stops.
The row crop range carries a speed rating of up to 70km/h. It launches in 29 sizes from 230/95R24 to 380/90R54, covering common European sprayer and row-crop tractor fitments. All sizes are backed by a seven-year warranty for multi-season use.
“By bringing our proven SLT technology to the row crop segment, we aim to set new standards for performance and reliability in this category,” said Angelo Noronha, president & CEO, Yokohama-ATG.
Narrow-row sprayer tyres must balance transport speed with a controlled footprint in the crop. The one-million-unit track record indicates established casing and compound performance, now applied to row-crop duty cycles.
