LKQ Europe and SYNETIQ Forge Sustainable Spare Parts Partnership.

LKQ Europe and SYNETIQ Ltd, backed by IAA’s RB Global, have formed LKQ Synetiq, a joint venture focused on dismantling, reuse and remanufactured vehicle parts. With SYNETIQ processing around 27,000 vehicles across four UK sites annually and LKQ’s extensive logistics and catalogue, the move strengthens the UK’s salvage channel and supports EU regulations like Fit‑for‑55 and ELV mandates.

Combining Expertise to Serve Independents

LKQ Synetiq merges SYNETIQ’s operations leadership under Michael Hill with LKQ Europe’s supply chain direction from Annick Jourdenais. Together with LKQ Atracco CEO Magnus Tagesson, they will enhance capability across Europe. The venture aims to help UK workshops and bodyshops order new, recycled or certified remanufactured parts covering conventional, hybrid and EV models—through a unified catalogue.

Strategic Growth Supporting the UK Salvage Sector

By setting up an integrated supply network sourcing salvage vehicles across Europe, LKQ Synetiq not only offers cost-effective parts to the independent sector but also channels fresh investment into UK dismantlers. This initiative responds to independent repairers’ demand for speed, margin improvement and sustainability.

Executive Perspectives

  • Andy Hamilton, President of LKQ Europe, emphasised the venture as “a major milestone” in providing sustainable and affordable mobility options while complying with tightening European regulations.
  • LKQ UK & Ireland CEO Kevan Wooden highlighted the benefit for independent garages: greater flexibility, quicker repair times and stronger green credentials.
  • RB Global’s Karl Werner noted the JV will enhance quality remanufactured parts flow into Europe and support the UK salvage marketplace.

By uniting dismantling, reuse and recycling with a data‑driven logistics network, LKQ Synetiq boosts supply chain transparency and efficiency. The move addresses critical challenges in EV and hybrid parts availability, underscoring the value of combining OEM‑captive components with independent aftermarket products. It may also serve as a scalable template for similar pan‑European salvage partnerships.
