Linglong Tire welcomed nearly 40 retailers from across Europe to Austria this month for its first-ever Winter Experience event, combining product testing with professional driving instruction in challenging alpine conditions.

The two-day programme took place at the Stegergut winter driving park in Salzburger Land, a specialist facility situated at 1,030 metres between mountain peaks. The venue provided ideal conditions for winter tyre evaluation, featuring varied handling courses, expansive dynamic areas, and circular tracks designed for professional driving training.

Drift-focused Programme

Participants covered more than 120 kilometres behind the wheel of Toyota GR Yaris and GR Supra vehicles, selected specifically for their drift capabilities. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, retailers progressed from improving general driving skills to mastering controlled drifts around the various circuits.

The training motto of "one more drift" reflected the event's emphasis on pushing both drivers and tyres to their limits, allowing participants to perfect vehicle control in demanding winter conditions whilst experiencing the performance characteristics of Linglong's latest winter tyre.

German-developed Tyre on Test

All vehicles were fitted with Linglong's Sport Master Winter tyre in size 225/40 R18 92W – a significant product for the Chinese manufacturer as it represents the first Linglong tyre developed in Germany and produced exclusively in Europe.

The tyre has already earned recognition in the German market, receiving a "good" rating from auto motor und sport magazine in autumn testing last year.

Beyond the Track

The Winter Experience extended beyond driving activities to include a product workshop where Linglong presented its latest range and upcoming marketing campaigns. Retailers also enjoyed a traditional horse-drawn sleigh ride through the snow-covered mountain landscape, followed by refreshments at a rustic mountain hut.

The event proved sufficiently successful that Linglong has confirmed its intention to repeat the Winter Experience programme next year, cementing it as an annual fixture in the company's European retail engagement calendar.
