Global Rubber Industries used Agritechnica 2025 in Hanover to set out its European ambitions, previewing a steel-belted agricultural tyre range and announcing a distribution partnership with German rim specialist Grasdorf. The company framed the move around sustainability, technical progress and wider market access, positioning Europe as pivotal to its plan to triple global agricultural tyre sales in the coming years.
At a joint press conference, GRI said Europe already accounts for roughly half of its agricultural tyre sales and will be central to future growth. The tie-up with Grasdorf is intended to improve on-the-ground availability and service, leveraging the distributor’s network in Germany and neighbouring markets. “Partnership is about trust and shared vision,” said Grasdorf managing director Joachim G. Wolf.
GRI’s upcoming steel-belted agricultural line is designed for durability, stable heat management and consistent field-to-road performance, reflecting customer demand for proven outcomes on traction, fuel use and soil protection. The company said the construction targets longer service life and reliability under heavy loads and transport cycles typical in European operations.
Independent evaluations earlier in 2025 indicated GRI farm tyres can outperform industry benchmarks on traction, fuel economy and compaction, metrics procurement teams now scrutinise closely. With Europe’s show season emphasising verified results and service support, the Grasdorf partnership gives GRI a clearer route to dealers and fleets seeking measurable performance.
Capacity and footprint
GRI plans to boost output at its Sri Lankan manufacturing base while expanding distribution and manufacturing networks internationally. In practice, broader European access via Grasdorf, combined with a refreshed product platform, is meant to accelerate sales momentum from 2026.
