Firestone has introduced the latest addition to its winter van tyre range with the launch of the Vanhawk 2 Winter EVO.
The new tyre is designed to provide van owners and fleet operators with improved mileage, reliable winter performance and greater fuel and energy efficiency.
Replacing the Firestone Vanhawk 2 Winter, the new Winter EVO model benefits from Bridgestone’s ENLITEN technology platform. This next-generation tyre technology focuses on balancing performance with sustainability by reducing rolling resistance without compromising safety and durability.
Firestone claims the new tyre offers a 10 per cent longer mileage compared to its predecessor, thanks to an enhanced compound that optimises abrasion. A redesigned crown structure also supports even wear distribution across the contact patch.
Certified with both the 3 Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) and M+S markings, the Firestone Vanhawk 2 Winter EVO delivers dependable traction in snowy and wet conditions. The tyre also achieves an A-grade wet grip rating on the EU tyre label, alongside a 10 per cent improvement in wet braking performance over the previous generation.
Rolling resistance has been reduced by five per cent, contributing to lower fuel consumption and enhanced energy efficiency for electric vans. This is achieved through optimised compound technology and tread pattern adjustments to minimise energy loss during rolling.
The tyre is fully EV-ready, allowing mixed fleets of internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicles to use a single tyre solution.
Commenting on the launch, Stefano Sanchini, Vice President Consumer Replacement at Bridgestone EMEA, said:
"The latest addition to the Firestone Vanhawk family ensures business continuity for van owners and fleets across the winter season. Built to perform, the new Firestone Vanhawk 2 Winter EVO with ENLITEN Technology is here for those who need durability, uncompromised safety and cost efficiency from their winter tyres above all else."
The Firestone Vanhawk 2 Winter EVO has been developed and tested in Italy and will be available across Europe from June 2025. It will be offered in an expanded range of 40 sizes from 15” to 17”, covering 93 per cent of market demand in this segment. The line-up will include five 10 Ply Rating sizes to meet growing demand for higher-load capacity, particularly from fleets operating heavier vans and EV light trucks.
