Asia-Pacific ELT market in focus as CMT confirms Bangkok dates for 28–29 January 2026

Conference organiser CMT has confirmed the End-of-Life Tyres (ELT) Recycling & Sustainability event for 28–29 January 2026 in Bangkok, bringing tyre makers, recyclers, cement producers, mining firms, chemical innovators and policymakers together to discuss Asia’s fast-growing ELT challenge and circular economy opportunities. The agenda spans recovered carbon black, pyrolysis oil upgrading, devulcanisation, and country perspectives on collection and Extended Producer Responsibility.

A regional market at an inflection point
Asia-Pacific generates millions of tonnes of ELTs each year and is moving from landfill towards higher-value recovery pathways. Organisers say the meeting will “shape the future of sustainable tyre recycling in Asia,” highlighting both regulatory drivers and commercial technologies. As CMT notes, “the time to act is now” given accelerating investments and policy timetables across the region.

Policy momentum: EPR takes centre stage
Expect EPR frameworks to feature prominently. Malaysia has set out a voluntary EPR phase shifting to mandatory from 2026, while regional programmes backed by development agencies are working to harmonise best practice and implementation. These moves tighten obligations on producers and strengthen end-of-life collection infrastructure, key prerequisites for bankable recycling capacity.

Technology focus: from pyrolysis oil to rCB
Sessions will explore whether recycled inputs and renewable materials can meet ultra-high-performance demands, plus routes to convert tyre pyrolysis oil into higher-value chemicals. In practice, new plants and product launches across Asia show momentum: Tyre News recently covered South Korea’s largest ELT recycling plant and JK Tyres ISCC PLUS-certified passenger tyres using recycled content, useful case studies for delegates.

Why it matters for producers and fleets
For manufacturers, credible rCB and oil-to-chemicals streams support decarbonisation and supply diversification. For fleets and end users, better recovery markets can reduce disposal risk and improve compliance as city and national authorities tighten waste controls.

What attendees can expect
The Bangkok programme includes market outlooks, country updates from Thailand, India, Malaysia, Singapore, China and Australia, and panels on scaling collection and feedstock quality. CMT lists tire manufacturers, recyclers, pyrolysis operators, chemical suppliers, OEMs, mining and cement companies among the target audience, with exhibition and sponsorship options available.
