Bridgestone has announced its first tyre engineered specifically for motorhomes, the Duravis Camper All Season, due to reach market in June 2026. The launch is significant for the trade: tyre retailers and wholesalers who stock leisure vehicle fitments have until now had to work with products designed primarily for light commercial applications, and the arrival of a premium-branded, purpose-built motorhome tyre creates a new high-margin specialist SKU category at a point when demand for leisure vehicle travel continues to grow across Europe.
The tyre carries EU label ratings of A for wet grip, B for rolling resistance, and A for exterior noise, according to Bridgestone. Wet performance is enabled by a high-silica content compound supported by high-volume shoulder slots for water evacuation, while a directional V-shaped pattern addresses snow mobility. The tyre is rated 3PMSF (Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake) and M+S certified, meaning it qualifies as a winter tyre for the purposes of European winter equipment regulations, which is commercially relevant for motorhome owners who travel year-round across alpine or Nordic regions.
Bridgestone has incorporated a reinforced carcass construction and an optimised pattern design specifically to address two engineering challenges unique to motorhomes: the high static loads imposed during extended parking periods, and the kerb impacts common when manoeuvring heavy vehicles in campsites and service areas. A sidewall protector rib is integrated to guard against the latter. Longevity is supported by high pattern stiffness and a balanced contact pressure distribution intended to deliver even wear across the tyre's life.
The CP (Camping Pneu) marking on the sidewall is a detail retailers should understand and communicate to customers. This designation indicates that the tyre has been engineered for the specific demands of motorhomes, including the capacity to withstand sustained high sidewall loads during static periods at elevated temperatures — conditions that a standard van-derived or light commercial tyre may not be certified to handle. Fitting a tyre without the CP marking to a motorhome does not necessarily mean the tyre will fail, but it does mean the manufacturer has not validated it for those conditions.
Bridgestone's ENLITEN Technology — a compound and construction platform aimed at reducing mass and rolling resistance without sacrificing grip or wear durability is applied to the Duravis Camper All Season and is what the manufacturer says enables EV-readiness alongside the B-grade rolling resistance rating. In practical terms for the aftermarket, this means the tyre can be positioned for use on motorhomes fitted with auxiliary battery systems or hybrid drivetrains without the rolling resistance penalty that historically came with heavily reinforced constructions.
The tyre will launch in four sizes covering 15- and 16-inch rim diameters, developed at Bridgestone's R&D Centre in Italy. Stefano Sanchini, Vice President Consumer Replacement at Bridgestone EMEA, said the range is built around the safety and mobility needs of motorhome users travelling across seasons, and that the Duravis platform's durability credentials have been extended to address the camper segment specifically.
For tyre retail businesses with a leisure vehicle customer base, the Duravis Camper All Season represents a straightforward upsell argument: a product that is explicitly certified for the demands of motorhomes carries demonstrably stronger consumer confidence than an adapted van tyre, and it arrives under one of the most recognised premium tyre brands in Europe.
The initial four-size offering across two rim diameters is narrow enough for a selective stocking decision ahead of the June launch date, but retailers should anticipate size range expansion as Bridgestone validates demand. The CP marking also gives counter staff a concrete technical point of differentiation to explain, at a moment when many motorhome owners remain unaware that their vehicle's fitment requirements differ from a standard van.
