Vaculug has renewed promotion of V-Torque, its mobile reference tool for commercial vehicle wheel-nut torque specifications. The app is not a new launch, having been released in April 2025, but its current positioning provides a useful reminder of where access to manufacturer torque data sits within the wider wheel-security process.
Vaculug has renewed promotion of V-Torque, its mobile app giving fleet operators and commercial tyre technicians access to Original Equipment Manufacturer wheel-nut torque specifications.
The company is currently presenting the tool as part of its approach to fleet safety and compliance, saying it provides “live OEM” torque information directly to drivers and operators. V-Torque was originally released in April 2025, rather than being a new 2026 launch. Apple’s App Store records version 1.0.0 on 17 April 2025, with the latest version, 1.0.2, released on 26 March 2026 with “minor improvements”.

Its role in the wheel-security process is, however, more specific than simply providing a complete compliance system.
Vaculug’s January 2026 service procedures state that technicians can use V-Torque to determine the correct clamping force for a vehicle. The same procedure separately requires torque tags and electronic or paper worksheets to record the work, including the torque applied and, where relevant, the timing of the re-torque.
That distinction reflects the wider requirements around commercial vehicle wheel security. UK government guidance says that following road-wheel removal and refitting, wheel-nut torque should be checked after the vehicle has stood for 30 minutes or travelled between 40 km and 80 km. Re-torque checks should also be recorded and retained, while vehicle manufacturers’ procedures must be followed.
V-Torque therefore addresses one practical part of that process: making the correct vehicle-specific torque specification accessible at the point of work rather than relying on remembered values or separate reference material.
Vaculug also claims the tool can contribute to lower wheel-related risk and improved casing life. Those remain company claims rather than quantified outcomes in the material currently available.
The more useful next measure of V-Torque’s development will be evidence of how its OEM database has expanded since launch, how frequently specifications are updated and how widely the tool is being used by fleets and technicians.
