New Tyron run-flat band targets faster field fitment and lower weight.

Tyron Runflat will unveil what it claims is the world’s lightest rubber run-flat band at DSEI UK 2025, offering continued mobility after a tyre strike or puncture. The system combines a steel core, rubber cushioning and a carbon ratchet mechanism to cut weight and speed installation.

Live demonstrations are planned on stand N3-220 in the Land Zone at ExCeL London from 9–12 September 2025.

Product Overview

  • Lightweight design: Steel core with rubber exterior and a carbon ratchet to reduce mass. The approach aims to simplify fitment in the field.
  • Mobility assurance: Up to 50 km of run-flat capability is indicated for the ATR EasyFit configuration.
  • Field-friendly: Fit and remove without specialist tools, supporting rapid wheel-side work.
  • Compatibility: Intended for common defence wheel sizes across armoured and logistics platforms (company information).

How it works

The run-flat band uses rubber to absorb shocks and protect tyres and wheels, with the steel core maintaining structure on deflation. The carbon ratchet mechanism enables on-vehicle assembly without presses, helping crews replace tyres quickly and safely during operations.

Where to see it at DSEI

Tyron team members will run live demonstrations at stand N3-220, near the west entrance of the Land Zone. DSEI 2025 takes place at ExCeL London from 9–12 September 2025. Event details: DSEI 2025

For military and security fleets, a lighter run-flat band can improve payload and reduce downtime after tyre damage. Rubber-based run-flat systems also offer bead retention and impact protection, which can help vehicles reach safety before full maintenance. The stated 50 km capability aligns with recent ATR EasyFit materials indicating extended mobility after deflation.

Tyron has been expanding activity across blue-light and defence sectors this year. At the NAPFM 2025 show, the company highlighted run-flat solutions for emergency fleets, underscoring cross-sector demand for reliable deflation management.
