Emergency services across the UK are facing increased pressure due to budget constraints, staffing challenges, and demanding response expectations. In this context, tyre safety specialist Tyron Runflat used the 2025 Emergency Fleet Exhibition and NAPFM Conference to underline the importance of reliable tyre solutions for blue-light vehicles.
Held at The International Centre in Telford, NAPFM brought together stakeholders from police, fire, and ambulance fleet management to explore next-generation vehicle technologies and safety innovations. For Tyron Runflat, the event provided a timely platform to demonstrate how its Multi-Band and single-piece runflat solutions can support critical vehicle performance in the event of tyre failure.
Tyron Multi-Bands are engineered to maintain vehicle mobility after tyre deflation, allowing drivers to retain control and reach safety even during high-speed incidents. The system is tested up to 250kph (156mph), making it especially suitable for pursuit and rapid-response vehicles.
Peter Simson, Director at Tyron Runflat, explained:
“This sector needs reliable and rapid safety solutions. Our Multi-Bands offer just that, helping emergency responders carry out their duties with added peace of mind.”
Live demonstrations at the show helped highlight how tyre blowouts caused by debris or foreign objects can be mitigated through Tyron’s engineered inserts, which prevent the tyre from separating from the wheel, allowing continued movement on a deflated tyre.
Marking its 51st year, NAPFM once again drew fleet managers, procurement leaders, and technical advisors from across emergency services, councils, and government departments. The exhibition floor included new fleet vehicles, advanced equipment and demonstrations of mission-critical technologies.
Tyron’s presence reinforced its ongoing commitment to the emergency services sector, where it has supplied tyre safety systems for over three decades. The company noted that several new partnerships were initiated during the event as decision-makers seek to improve vehicle reliability and fleet safety under mounting operational stress.
