Trelleborg’s TM900 ProgressiveTraction® Tyre Targets Demanding Agriculture Needs
Trelleborg Tires has introduced its new TM900 ProgressiveTraction® range, designed to meet the increasing demands of high-horsepower tractors in modern agriculture. The tyre delivers improved traction, extended durability, and optimised fuel efficiency — responding to the growing need for reliable performance in heavy-duty field operations.
At the centre of the TM900 range is Trelleborg’s ProgressiveTraction® technology. Featuring a distinctive double-edge lug design, the tyre provides up to 17% more traction than conventional options. This improved grip not only enhances productivity but also contributes to lower fuel consumption and reduced soil compaction.
The TM900’s wider base design helps reduce vibration, which enhances driving comfort and supports fuel savings. Its improved lug geometry also offers excellent self-cleaning ability — minimising mud build-up and maintaining high performance across variable terrain. On-road handling has also been addressed, with the lug angle and layout optimised for safer and more stable transport.
Trelleborg reports that the TM900 ProgressiveTraction® lasts up to 20% longer than competitor tyres in comparable conditions. This durability makes it well suited to extended work hours and the increasingly intense demands placed on agricultural equipment today.
The TM900 ProgressiveTraction® highlights a continuing shift in agri tyre design, moving beyond durability to include intelligent tread engineering and hybrid field-road performance. As farming equipment grows more powerful and operational pressures increase, tyre technologies like ProgressiveTraction® play a critical role in enhancing machine output while protecting soil health. This development reflects broader industry efforts to deliver specialised, application-focused solutions in agricultural mobility.
