Balkrishna Industries Limited has unveiled a large-format tyre installation at Mumbai International Airport as it broadens its presence beyond off-highway applications. The display presents BKT’s portfolio across agriculture, construction, mining, commercial vehicles, two-wheelers and passenger vehicles, supporting the manufacturer’s developing position in India’s wider mobility market.
Located at the Terminal 2 elevated road underpass, the installation covers approximately 2,000 square feet. It features nine illuminated tyre-shaped displays, each measuring eight feet in diameter.
The sequential design uses the tyre itself as the main storytelling device. It begins with a visual featuring BKT brand ambassador Ranveer Singh before moving through the company’s different product and application areas.
BKT said the installation was developed around its “Elevate Your Drive” positioning. Infectious Advertising conceptualised the display as an alternative to conventional outdoor advertising, combining product imagery with sequential content.
The installation is scheduled to remain at the airport for 24 months. Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport handled a record 55.5 million passengers during 2025, including 39.2 million domestic travellers and 16.3 million international passengers.
The display arrives as BKT expands from its established off-highway tyre business into India’s two-wheeler, passenger car and commercial vehicle segments.
Tyre News previously reported on BKT’s entry into India’s consumer tyre market, beginning with motorcycle and scooter tyres before a planned move into passenger car products.
The development also follows the company’s 2030 growth plans for passenger car and truck and bus radial tyres. Those plans combine on-highway expansion with continued investment in off-highway products and carbon black manufacturing.
More recently, BKT began commercial supplies of truck and bus radial tyres in India and introduced selected two-wheeler products through its developing distribution network. The company has not disclosed sales or volume figures for the new operation.
Satish Sharma, senior president and director of business development and strategy at BKT, said innovation also influenced how the company presented its changing product portfolio.
“For BKT, innovation goes beyond product engineering; it extends to how we tell our story,” Sharma said. “Our tyre itself becomes the medium through which travellers experience the breadth of BKT’s world.”
He added that the airport location allowed BKT to present itself across different terrains, applications and journeys rather than through one product category.
The installation therefore connects the company’s traditional agricultural, industrial, construction and mining activities with its newer consumer and commercial vehicle ambitions.
BKT was established in 1987 and is headquartered in Mumbai. Its off-highway portfolio includes more than 3,600 products covering agriculture, construction, mining, earthmoving, industrial and material-handling applications. It also produces rubber tracks and manufactures carbon black within its vertically integrated production network.
For BKT, the airport display provides sustained consumer exposure during a significant portfolio transition. Its established customers largely know the company through specialist off-highway applications.
The installation seeks to extend that recognition into segments where brand awareness, dealer coverage and consumer familiarity play a larger role in purchasing decisions.
It also gives BKT a common visual platform for products serving markedly different users. These range from agricultural and mining operators to motorcyclists, passenger vehicle drivers and commercial fleets.
