BKT Charts New Growth Course with Entry into PCR and TBR Sectors

BKT (Balkrishna Industries Ltd.) has announced its strategic roadmap to 2030, outlining an ambitious plan to diversify its product mix and strengthen its market leadership. The five-year strategy, shared during the company's latest board meeting, marks a significant expansion beyond its traditional Off-Highway Tyre (OHT) focus.

Targeting ₹23,000 Crore Revenue by 2030

BKT aims to generate INR 23,000 Crores (approximately USD 2.6 billion) in annual revenue by the end of the decade. To achieve this, the company has allocated INR 3,500 Crores (around USD 400 million) for investment over the next three years, funded largely through internal accruals.

Three Strategic Pillars

The company’s roadmap revolves around three core objectives:

Global OHT Leadership: BKT will continue to reinforce its strong position in the Off-Highway Tyre market, which includes agricultural, construction, and industrial applications.

Carbon Black Expansion: Plans are in place to scale up BKT’s carbon black manufacturing, an essential raw material that supports tyre performance and in-house supply chain resilience.

New Market Entry – PCR and TBR Tyres: For the first time, BKT is entering the Passenger Car Radial (PCR) and Truck & Bus Radial (TBR) segments in the Indian market. These product lines are expected to contribute up to 20% of total company sales by 2030.

This move signals a major diversification for BKT, which has traditionally been known for its specialty tyres in the OHT segment.

Modular Growth and Integrated Manufacturing

BKT’s expansion strategy is based on a modular growth model, underpinned by integrated manufacturing processes, in-house energy generation, and the brand equity it has cultivated globally.

Joint Managing Director Rajiv Poddar noted that the company’s entry into new categories will be guided by the same operational discipline and customer trust that have defined its OHT business.

“We are entering new product categories with the same focus and consistency that have driven us in the Off-Highway space, backed by the trust we’ve earned worldwide,” said Poddar.
